Just got back from my first Brighton and Hove Albion game of the season. Despite being based in Qatar, I've managed to attend quite a few Albion games over the last few years at 'The Amex'. After a poor season last year, this was far more enjoyable!
They headed into this match against Bristol City top of the English Championship and the only unbeaten team in the country. So of course I feared being the unlucky omen! It looked liked that could be the case as they were losing 1-0 at half-time.
I'd taken my mum to the game as a birthday treat (what a lucky lady I know!) and said to her at the interval that they should substitute striker Sam Baldock as he missed two good chances. So obviously he scored the equaliser early in the second half!
The start of this season was all about the return of one of Brighton's best ever players Bobby Zamora. (Check out the Schwarzenegger-esque video on his return: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/sport/video-1203856/Bobby-Zamora-BACK-blue-Brighton-Hove-Albion.html). In Saturday's win over Leeds Zamora came off the bench to get the winning goal (his first back in Albion colours) in a 2-1 victory. Tonight he did the same again as Albion also won this match 2-1.
All good things eventually come to an end but until it happens I'll keep smiling as Brighton stay top of the Championship table unbeaten!
